Hemp wood’s natural absorptive capacity is significantly higher than that of conventional materials. Therefore it takes up moisture, smells and ammonia much better.
As it makes a springy and insulating stable bedding BioBase is ideal for the horse’s hoof. Its structure prevents the material from clinging to the animal’s hooves. Acidification of stable bedding such as wood shavings frequently affects the hooves. Farriers seldom establish hoof rot or other problems where hemp litter is used. Vets recommend the use of BioBase.

Unlike wood shavings and straw BioBase is virtually dust-free and has a moisture-regulating effect. Vets advise the use of hemp litter in stables of horses with allergies or bronchial problems. BioBase is equally ideal for grooms with similar disorders.

For a fresh scent that widens the respiratory tract eucalypt, a natural antiseptic, has been added to BioBase.

Using BioBase saves on labour as the stable bedding can stay put in the stable for a longer period. Hence the consumption is significantly lower than of straw or wood shavings. Added advantages are among others: less storage space, labour savings and a reduced quantity of stable waste. In just two to three months BioBase will turn your dungheap into high-grade organic garden compost.
